What You Do On A Gardening Working Holiday
What You Do On A Gardening Working Holiday depends on your gardening experience, expertise and gardening capabilities.
Our Writing Retreat has beautiful gardens with stunning views over a peaceful valley set in a private nature reserve. And, like all gardens, they need regular maintenance and upkeep. After suggestions from many writers visiting Secret World Retreat on a writing retreat (either individual writing retreat or group writing retreat) we decided to take up the idea of opening up gardening working holidays to writers, or in fact anyone who is an experienced gardener or landscape gardener.
Types of gardening tasks you could do:
- General Maintenance
- Help with Eco Gardening Projects
- Planting and Weeding (an endless task)
- Vegetable Gardening
- Mending and staining garden fencing
- Pruning trees and bushes
- Staining patio furniture (needs doing every season)
We offer healthy, home-cooked food and if you’d like to share your cooking and culinary skills that’s great too!
Our home and secret retreat is shared with a dog, many cats (eight at the moment but there’s always the chance someone new will wander in) and house martins who come back to their nest each year.
You get accommodation, food and Wi-Fi. You are free to go out after your morning of gardening. We can pick you up at Malaga Airport, but if you’d like to travel around in your spare time you’ll need to hire a car.
