Celebrate chocolate in all its forms from cocoa pods on the tree to soothing chocolate body wraps, cooking with chocolate, truffle making and tastings in this unusual Grenadian chocolate lovers holiday retreat.
The first ever Grenadian Style Chocolate Week offers chocoholics the opportunity to combine a holiday with their favourite sweet treat.
Grenada is one of the few places where chocolate is produced in the same place as the cocoa is grown. So the week includes a tour of the Belmont Cocoa Plantation to see how cocoa is grown, processed and turned into award winning chocolate sold under the Grenada Chocolate Company label.
True Blue Bay cooks, Esther and Omega, will demonstrate how to cook with chocolate. There will also be a chance to try cocoa tea – a popular local drink, be pampered with a chocolate spa treatment and delight the taste buds with a chocolate themed gala dinner.
Participants will also be able to get hands on experience of making truffles, filling simple moulds as well as shapes such as chocolate shoes and portrait painting with chocolate under the guidance of leading chocolatier, Gerry Wilton. Gerry will explain the history of chocolate and provide tastings so participants can see the difference between the very best and the not so good chocolate.
